Hurom-Hurom Cold Spring

Summer here in the Philippines is almost over. But before the heat wave ends, I packed my bag and went on a trip with a very good friend of mine, Christy.

It was a very tiring 5-hour bus ride from Iloilo to Numancia, Aklan where another friend, Lucky, lives. When we got there, we decided to sit it out for the remaining of the afternoon and just plan our Hurom-Hurom trip the following day.

From Numancia, it was a 1.5-hour jeepney ride or a 1-hour L300 van ride to Nabas, the town where the cold spring is. Then another 5-minute tricycle ride from the main road to Hurom-Hurom’s entrance. If my memory serves me right, you will pass by 2 other cold spring resorts there but those are smaller and more crowded compared to Hurom-Hurom.

For the kids! This side is not just for the little ones but also for those who weren’t able to study swimming 101 😛 Photo by: Christy

Cottages there are priced at P200 and P300 depending on size. You can also rent a big black rubber tire at P50 as your instant life buoy. We rented one and we had one helluva fun with it. Yeah~ Lots of screaming and kicking and laughing and crash swimming lessons with Lucky. People were staring at us ‘coz we were too loud 😛

If, by any chance, you want to visit Hurom-Hurom, you can always Google your way to it… or you can just hit the comment box and ask. Whatever’s more convenient to you. Just know that I’d be glad to answer questions if you have some.

P.S. Hurom-Hurom is like an hour away from Caticlan. So if you’re planning to go to Boracay, you can make a short detour and enjoy the refreshing cold first before you enjoy the scorhing sun. That is, if your schedule allows ^_^
